Guru Chandal Yoga

Guru or say Jupiter is the biggest Planet. It is related with knowledge, social-behavior/ bounding, moral values, blessings etc. In all you can say virtuous (satvick) personality is developed under benefic Jupiter and its proper position. Mostly Jupiter gives good results and saves you from any mishappening.

Jupiter combination (placed in one sign) with Rahu or Ketu is called Guru Chandal Yoga. Some authors say that if Guru is aspect by Rahu-Ketu then also you can say Guru Chandal is present. But I don’t agree fully. Actually Guru-Rahu or Guru-Ketu combination is called Guru Chandal Yoga because Rahu- Ketu qualities are just opposite to Guru and Rahu and Ketu are regarded as malignant (Tamsic) planets or worse malefic planets. In my opinion Rahu and Ketu should be taken as pure materialistic Planets (mainly Rahu; Ketu is related to Moksha, 6^th sense, flag of dharma etc.) as they give material desires. So joining with Jupiter they are supposed to spoil the good nature of Jupiter. We should also consider that in Indian society from the very beginning Indians are against materialistic approach. Thanks to Kaliyuga, now we are keen to acquire wealth even through improper means. So nowadays this combination cannot be said untouchable but if this kind of other planetary positions are also present then the native can go up to any extent to fulfill his (illegitimate) desires. Persons coming in news due to their scam, corruption charges may have this kind of combination.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion so with Rahu-Ketu the native wants material expansion. Adolf Hitler has this combination in Sagittarius sign in his third house. We can see clearly the over expansion motives of Hitler. Sagittarius is a fiery sign, third house is related with muscle power and because Sagittarius is the own house of Jupiter hence he got victory over his enemies and become famous. On the other hand Nehru had same sign combination in 6^th house, so most of his life was spent in 6^th house affair – fighting the shrewd enemy. As sixth house represent jail also, he got name and fame by writing ‘Discovery of India’ in jail. Some extra marital affairs with high class people can also be understood by this combination. George Bernard Shaw, famous English philosopher has this combination (Jupiter+Rahu) in philosophical, emotional sign Pisces which helped him in Jupiterian pursuits like authorship.

So this combination can be good but you have to analyze the chart properly. If Jupiter is favorable for the particular chart then this combination can give favorable results in materialistic areas. Watery signs (4,8,12) can give humanitarian, arts and cultural related work. Fiery signs (1,5,9) can give forceful activities. Airy signs (3,7,11) may join you with intellectual pursuits and Earthy signs (2,6,10) will give practical approach with fully conscious for power, prestige and money.

Houses in which this combination is taking place should be taken in account. Degrees are also important because if they are in near degrees than the result will be more effective while far away degrees, though in same house, will make the combination weak. So further, one should check the Bhav-Kundali also to locate where the planets (in house) are in real.

First house combination will be related to native’s overall behavior; 4^th and 9^th house to parental relationship and childhood surroundings. 2^nd, 5^th, 11^th to finance; 3^rd, 10^th with working attitude and their outcome; 6^th, 7^th house are related with life partner and 12^th, 8^th houses are related with some complicated problems. One native in my case study was with Jupiter+Ketu combination in 8^th house in Virgo sign, which gave him typical skin disease. As in Earthy sign he is practical, and because it is in Mercury sign he is a versatile and talented person, though not proper recognized yet. In another case Jupiter+Rahu is placed in 7^th house in emotional sign Pisces. Jupiter in the Nakshatra of Ascendant lord – Mercury and Rahu is in Nakshatra of Sun. Person was mentally upset and went under psychic treatment when Rahu Mahadasha and Jupiter Antardasha came in his life.

So one should check all the possibilities in the chart and then the prediction should be made, otherwise science will be blamed for your hasty-decision. One should do charity and prayer for Jupiter and Rahu/Ketu to neutralize the worse effects of Guru-Chandal Yoga.
